JAPAN "TRADITIONAL & CONTEMPORARY" TOUR
7 - 21 MAY 2025
FOR THE 2025 JAPAN "TRADITIONAL & CONTEMPORARY" TOUR

Japan is a country full of contradictions. Ancient co-exists with Modern, Old sits beside New and Traditional is juxtaposed against Contemporary. This might sounds strange and a little confusing, however this incongruity adds to Japan's appeal and makes it an intriguing, fascinating and delightful and place to visit. This wonderful tour will follow the same itinerary as the Autumn Leaves tour. Starting in Tokyo, the tour will then travel to Nagasaki on Kyushu Islands, the site of the foreign trading port during the Edo Period. We will then visit Arita, the birthplace of Japanese porcelain before heading to Okayama and the Edo Period village of Kurashiki and historic ceramic village of Imbe, home of Bizen ware. The tour will conclude in Kyoto, the former ancient capital of Japan. The JAPAN "TRADITIONAL & CONTEMPORARY" TOUR will visit places around Japan where Old and New co-exist to provide an insight into historical Japan and it's ancient traditions and learn more about the rise of modern Japan and it's pre-eminence in Contemporary Art, Architecture & Design.
